WHY DONT WE HAVE .EXE FILE IN JAVA AS C AND C++?????

In java we have only two extension files

  • ".java" extension file it is called source code which is developed by developer
  • ".class" extension file it is called as compiled code contains bytecode which is generated by compilerfrom source code
Like in c or c++, In java we do not have executable file means ".exe" extension files. Bcos in java compiled code is not a machine language, instead it is an intermediate code, named as byte code which is only understood by JVM named as ".class" file.
So .exe file is eliminated to support platform independency.
