Why JAVA language is developed even after we have c and c++

Why JAVA language is developed?

                   never thought about why java is developed even after we having c and c++?????????? 

              Java programming language mainly designed to develop internet applications by providing platform independency. C,C++ programming languages supports developing only standalone application, it can only be executed in current system, cannot be executed from remote system via network call.
